Applications Engineer

Job Description Overview

Applications Engineers are responsible for the preparation of Sales drawings, equipment costing, quotations, order entry and other documentation in support of sales efforts. Duties include coordinating with Sales and Engineering from Customer inquiry until the final equipment purchase order is prepared for engineering. This is a visible position within the Company, suppliers and to our customers. Solid communication skills are required due to the combined Sales and Engineering nature of this position. Reports to the Engineering Product Manager, and may infrequently be called upon to supervise the work of others, depending on project size & workload.

Qualifications

Dedication to excellence and a quality output.
Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3-D experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of Windows, MS Word, Excel, CRM software.
Basic knowledge of machine design & electrical controls (PLC).
Communication and Organization skills.
Cost estimating experience is desirable.
Experience in the bulk material handling and processing industry a plus.

Responsibilities

The following are required of this position on a daily basis:

Promote excellence throughout the department
Review the RFQ, clarify the customer requirements, and help determine the proper equipment.
Work with Sales to prioritize the proposal schedule.
Production of sales drawings, formal and budgetary proposals.
Produce installation RFQs.
Estimate equipment costs, get bids for buyout items and installation.
May act as customer contact.
Testing and evaluation of Customer materials, includes writing test reports.
“Ownership” and responsibility for assigned projects.
Maintenance of Proposal Schedule by finishing work on time.
Work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
Work closely and communicate with other departments.
Applications Engineers represent the company at a high level and must conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Occasional travel to customer facilities providing Sales support.

Shipping & Receiving

Job Description Overview

The Shipping and Receiving position is responsible for loading and unloading inbound and outbound products and material. Once unloaded, inbound materials are to be transferred to a suitable holding area in a safe and orderly manner, and packing slips taken directly to the proper person (i.e. crib attendant). Outbound freight is to be skidded and/or packaged in a conscientious manner using a packing list or other written information provided.

Basic carpentry experience

Responsibilities

Promote excellence throughout the department
Final quality and completeness check for outbound materials
Initial quality check of inbound materials
Extensive material handling, forklift and overhead crane rigging
Safety stickers and tag placement
Check list completion
Securing manuals to equipment
Dimensional verification of parts
Cutting of helix casings
Work in other areas of the operation as directed by supervision
Monitor inventory of shipping supplies including the use of Kanban cards
Local pick-up and drop-off of items
Transportation of company documents
Others are assigned by supervision
The employee will supply all basic tools

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the accurate preparation of all equipment drawings required for customer approval, shop manufacturing and installation. The duties will include, but not be limited to: reviewing specifications with the customer, preparation of the approval drawings, communication with the customers regarding questions and schedules, preparation of accurate manufacturing drawings, communication with the shop personnel with regard to design questions and suggestions, review of equipment before shipment to ensure that all design details have been implemented, support Customer Service for any issues that may arise with the equipment on which you worked. This is a visible position with the Company and to our Customers. Solid communication skills are required.

Qualifications

Two-year Associates Degree in Mechanical Design and Drafting or equivalent experience
Exposure to bulk material handling equipment
Broad experience in systems, food, chemical process and bulk material handling with a large exposure to in-field startups, troubleshooting
Design experience with sheet metal, hoppers, chutes, structural supports and machine drive arrangements in hazardous, wash-down, sanitary and heavy industry areas
Ability to read electrical and pneumatic diagrams
Strong mechanical ability and knowledge of process equipment
Proficient use of AutoCAD 2017, Inventor 2017, Vault, Excel and Word
General math and trigonometry skills
Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Proficient skills in handling service calls and phone support
Problem solving skills (Inter/Cross Departmental)
Excellent communication
Willingness to travel

Panel Shop Designer

Job Description Overview
Panel Shop Designers are responsible for the design of the company’s electrical controls. Duties include preparation of engineering drawings including electrical schematic, panel layout, bill of materials & documentation for control packages. This position reports to the Senior Panel Shop Engineer.

Associates of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical software.
Must be able to work independently, accurately & efficiently.
Demonstrated organizational & time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Working knowledge of Windows & general computer operation.
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel

Responsibilities
The following activities are required in this position:

Design, documentation, testing & troubleshooting of controls.
Production of detailed electrical schematics and panel layout drawings with bills of materials.
Panel & logic check-out in the shop before shipment.
Maintenance of the Production Schedule by finishing work on time.
Interpretation of Customer specifications.
“Ownership” and responsibility for projects.
Others as required by the Senior Panel Shop Engineer.
Work closely and communicate with other departments regarding current projects.
Controls Designers represent the company at a high level and must conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Field Service Technician

Job Description Overview
Field Service Technicians are responsible for the service of PRAB, Inc. products at Customer locations. They perform preventive maintenance, site surveys, installations, modifications and equipment start-ups provide training and re-training in the use of PRAB, Inc. equipment. This position reports to the Customer Service Manager.

Well-developed organizational skills
Ability to travel – 80 to 85% travel time (US and International travel)
Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge and ability to perform high quality welds
Working knowledge of PLC controls and logic
Hydraulic knowledge/troubleshooting beneficial
High School education, technical training and 2 to 4 years of related technical service work
Ability to remain calm in difficult situation
