Applications Engineer

Job Description Overview

Applications Engineers are responsible for the preparation of Sales drawings, equipment costing, quotations, order entry and other documentation in support of sales efforts. Duties include coordinating with Sales and Engineering from Customer inquiry until the final equipment purchase order is prepared for engineering. This is a visible position within the Company, suppliers and to our customers. Solid communication skills are required due to the combined Sales and Engineering nature of this position. Reports to the Engineering Product Manager, and may infrequently be called upon to supervise the work of others, depending on project size & workload.

Qualifications

  • Dedication to excellence and a quality output.
  • Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3-D experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, MS Word, Excel, CRM software.
  • Basic knowledge of machine design & electrical controls (PLC).
  • Communication and Organization skills.
  • Cost estimating experience is desirable.
  • Experience in the bulk material handling and processing industry a plus.

Responsibilities

The following are required of this position on a daily basis:

  • Work with Sales to prioritize the proposal schedule.
  • Production of sales drawings, formal and budgetary proposals.
  • Produce installation RFQs.

  • May act as customer contact.
  • Testing and evaluation of Customer materials, includes writing test reports.

Shipping & Receiving

Job Description Overview

The Shipping and Receiving position is responsible for loading and unloading inbound and outbound products and material. Once unloaded, inbound materials are to be transferred to a suitable holding area in a safe and orderly manner, and packing slips taken directly to the proper person (i.e. crib attendant). Outbound freight is to be skidded and/or packaged in a conscientious manner using a packing list or other written information provided.

  • Initial quality check of inbound materials

  • Work in other areas of the operation as directed by supervision
  • Monitor inventory of shipping supplies including the use of Kanban cards
  • Local pick-up and drop-off of items
  • Transportation of company documents

  • The employee will supply all basic tools

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


 

Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the accurate preparation of all equipment drawings required for customer approval, shop manufacturing and installation. The duties will include, but not be limited to: reviewing specifications with the customer, preparation of the approval drawings, communication with the customers regarding questions and schedules, preparation of accurate manufacturing drawings, communication with the shop personnel with regard to design questions and suggestions, review of equipment before shipment to ensure that all design details have been implemented, support Customer Service for any issues that may arise with the equipment on which you worked. This is a visible position with the Company and to our Customers. Solid communication skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Two-year Associates Degree in Mechanical Design and Drafting or equivalent experience
  • Exposure to bulk material handling equipment
  • Broad experience in systems, food, chemical process and bulk material handling with a large exposure to in-field startups, troubleshooting
  • Design experience with sheet metal, hoppers, chutes, structural supports and machine drive arrangements in hazardous, wash-down, sanitary and heavy industry areas
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic diagrams
  • Strong mechanical ability and knowledge of process equipment
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD 2017, Inventor 2017, Vault, Excel and Word
  • General math and trigonometry skills
  • Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Job Description Overview
Panel Shop Designers are responsible for the design of the company’s electrical controls. Duties include preparation of engineering drawings including electrical schematic, panel layout, bill of materials & documentation for control packages. This position reports to the Senior Panel Shop Engineer.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical software.

Field Service Technician

Job Description Overview
Field Service Technicians are responsible for the service of PRAB, Inc. products at Customer locations. They perform preventive maintenance, site surveys, installations, modifications and equipment start-ups provide training and re-training in the use of PRAB, Inc. equipment. This position reports to the Customer Service Manager.
